    Any ideas?

    Hello everyone,
I am hopefully soon to be buying a M50 swapped E30. But, it has some problems.
Its a 89 325i, it has a lot of modification which is exactly what I would have been doing if I bough a stock one.

It has some problems. Before purchasing it, I want some estimates. I drove around to some local shops and everyone says they can not give me one unless, they see the car.

    The problems are:
    1. has no a/c (living in SC will be a pain so it would need to be done soon)
    2. the harnesses are not professionally welded so I would need those done to be safe.
    3. alignment
    4. windshield

The car would be my daily but I am excited from the way it looks and sounds (from videos). I would just love to know how much it would cost to fix the small issues. The car would be shipped from NJ.
I know A/C is going to be a sort of hefty price but please be honest.

    Thanks

UPDATE: The car has absolutely nothing for the a/c. No lines, compressor, etc. Any accurate ideas on the cost? Is there any ideas for something that would be wrong for the turn signals/ brake lights to be not working? Any ideas on cost?
    Thanks

The a/c could be all sorts of things.
Is the e36/e34 compressor hooked up to the e30 lines?
If yes then it could have a leak or could have never been chatrged.
if not hooked up then you need to get the m42 lines or adapt the current lines to hook it to the e30 system.

If the harness is working then I would not bother with it.
If the wires are just twisted and taped or crimped then it would be pretty straight forward to solder them one at a time.

Alignment is easy. E30's only have front toe adjustment so that's pretty cheap and easy.

Windshield's can be had for around $110-$125 on the low end.

Everything seems pretty straight forward really.

Going off of Teaguer's comment, I doubt it would cost more than $500 to fix it to your standards.

The a/c lines can be adapted, a rebuilt compressor, new ebay condensor, a leakdown test performed, charged, and ready to go for not too much $$. I wouldn't solder the harness connections as long as they are properly crimped and water tight. Windshields + installation (you could even DIY) are under $200, and the alignment couldn't cost more than $50.

      Good luck!

Turns and brake lights may be relays or fuses, or the bulbs themselves. Google for the fuse box diagrams and go poke around the car, it's not rocket science!
