I'm thinking about selling my eta to fund my swap. I've sesarched around and found them going for really cheap, to kind of expensive. Mine is out of an 87 and has 90,XXX miles on it. Would I get more if i parted it out? Or would it be bettr to sell it put together?

With that mileage, I'd say put together. Give us more details; color, transmission, sport or comfort, mods....
Also a pic will help...

Depends on what you have done to it, an ETA is not really desired for anything much more than replacing and staying stock or making a b27i.~ Puch Cafe. ~ Do business? feedback ~ Check out my leather company ~

wow. I over paid. I paid $6k for mine, with 109k miles on the clock. But. . . it's absolutely pristine. I mean, I was dubious, but it's in damn fine shape.

I would say if your ETA is in really good shape and is bone stock, manual tranny, etc. you could sell it on the BMW CCA website (or another site where Old Men are to be found) you might be able to get a little more. Provided the maintenance has been kept up with and the typical wear parts have been OEM or OEM+ upgraded.
Obviously this community is more into the "tuning" stuff, which is cool, but there are plenty who value the preservation of these cars more than their performance.
Two cents.
Either way, good luck with whatever you decide. I have a stock eta and it still makes me smile on my way to work every day. I don't regret paying $6k for it at all. Cheapest and most fun car I've owned.
Oh, and do remember that when the Eta debuted in North America, it was the top of the line model for the 3. It slotted above the 318i, had more and better options boxes to tick./______\_o_/______\

Depends on the condition. These cars are getting more and more saught after.
If i could find a properly sorted Zinno ETA id buy it. Of course that gay ass B27 would get ripped out.
Its not so much the engine with these cars, its the body .1985 325e M50TU(Sold)

Couldn't tell you how much the motor is worth, can't imagine over $500.
I paid 1k for a mint 86 white/white 4 door eta, all it needed was a wheel bearing and a center support bearing.
Edit:
90k is pretty low miles, you may be able to fetch more, especially from an eta purist. Hell DaButt may even give you a couple grand for it...haha j/k DaButt!Last edited by schröe30er; 04-28-2012, 04:13 PM.
