I dilute it 50:50 in the summer with RO water because I'm cheap. it's a great de-icer - methanol > isopropyl.

A lot of airplanes have the hydrophobic coating on the windshields. It saves weight by eliminating the "wipers". And by wipers I mean the system that blasts air over the windshield.
