I just saw an ad for an engine using a photo of my actual engine that I just put in my car. I sent an email inquiring about the history of it. They gave me some long winded "australian race series blah blah" and I told them to stop using my pic. I should have just shown more interest and asked for more detailed photos and a video as a serious buyer.

not that itll come to this, but some dude just got $14 million from nestle because they used his likeness in ads for years without ever having first asked him

thats crazy!! there has been some weird stuff like that. there was guy selling a motorcylce on CL, and he used the picture from on of my friends dads Chopper shop in venice beach. he used the exact picture of his website to sell replica bike... fuckin noob!

It's a shame the images aren't hotlinked. Then this thread could be a whole lot more fun.

i've sent emails threatening legal action as well as multiple reports to ebay, no responses in 5 months. kind of disappointing.

i'm considering buying for a kit then reporting them for selling a different item as described, using my own car as evidence.

I took pictures of my uncles bobber. Posted in Maxbimmer to show everyone how awesome it was......noone cared. That's the only place I psted them online

My uncle called me a couple months later and told me to check out a bike shop in Quebec that was building bikes that looked exactly like his!......They were passing off his bike, my photos, as their own builds and frames.
