Does anyone use 5th gear on the highway in an eta?????

I've gotten up to 125 in my eta....and i was only at 3k since i red line at 5300.....i dont understand that some of you guys cant get past 110.....i have a 86 325es.....what type of limited slip do i have?....please explain im.... :oops: ...i dunno WTF you guys are talking about....and i drive almost 500 miles a week in my eta.....i use 5th gear alot....it doest have the best acceleration at 50mph....but once the revs get up to like 2500-3k it starts to pic up....

I agree. Mine will do 124mph according to the speedo with the 3.73 (5400rpm). The factory 2.93 allowed for over 130mph with pedal left. My problem with that speed was the lift on the front end. My aerodynamics are horrible at that speed and allow way too much air under the car.

I like to cruise in 4th most of the time.

DAN, how'd you get to 120? My car didn't move past 110, no room left in 4th, so flooring it in 5th wouldn't get me goin any faster. I think I have a 2.73 too. I want to get a 3.45, that would be nice. :)

I was chasing a mustang or something on a slight incline, I have a chip, but it really doesn't pull much after 115 in a straight. I got the pic at 120 cause it was a rare occasion, My Dad actually took the pic while I was driving. Haha

i use 5th on the streets in my is it gets goes just fine without problems.

i use fifth all the freakin time... why would i not? it's there for a reason.

think i've had my eta up to 125 indicated & it was still inching upwards. all it has is a bav auto chip & a stock 2.93 rear end
