      Thanks will try it. It appears it's a dirty maf which I had suspected. Told owner to clean it and reset codes. He's gonna get back to me on it.

        The first thing I'd suspect, especially on this engine, would be intake leaks. That is even more likely given a diagnosis that seems to point to the MAF. A smoke test of the intake and a crank case pressure check (diagnostic for a failed CCV) would be my first actions.
        The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

          29 = Air mass sensor
          C9 = is Lambda Control #1
          FF not listed, it may have been incorrect as I was reading it in bright sun light
          This maybe 1F Fuel Injector, Cyl #5
          OD = Oxy sensor, #1

          The codes he told me. Told him to toss the FF codes as it means jack squat prior to 95.

            29 and C9 could be from a problem with the MAF, but they could just as easily be from intake leaks.

              I mentioned that to him they are downstream so most likely it's just a nice simple fix. I won't see car till later in week but with things to check he's doing good. Wanted to put some fancy iridium plugs in it and said No stop, NGK or simple F7DLCR for it.
