Got Bored, Tap handle shift lever time....

got bored today and being as I had too much time and not enough $$$, I made this out of some scrap brass I had laying around. Turns a standard threaded tap handle into a shift lever without having to screw up the car.

Here are a couple of NON-shit photos of it installed...

    First Gear

    Reverse

    In second gear

It works fine with my shifter setup (E46 shift carrier, modified E30 shift rod, E46 lever)
others may have an issue with the "forward" gears on the pattern. Overall, I probably wont drive it like this, it was an exercise in "can I do it" not to mention, it was a busted handle to begin with, and now the top has completely separated. Time to swipe another from work..... FML

In an accident those things can do some serious damage to limbs, hands etc.
Looks cool for sure, just dont drive anywhere with it mounted.
Not knocking your idea, just appendage safety comes to mind after seeing first hand the damage a "rickards red" tap handle did to young fellas right arm in side hit/roll over.

I said "first hand" not google images.

That is truly the single stupidist thing I have heard in a long time.

I, (as in me) was a little busy at the time of the incident, trying not to get sprayed by a severed ulnar artery, and to get him to stop screaming, while pulling pieces of porcelin (the tap handle) out his shattered arm.

With that said, I really only care for stock stuff. If its your cup of tea; Cheers.

If you are worried about a tap handle, you should see the guy I know who has a machete for a shift knob.
