    blown head gaskets.... repeat offenders?

So the wives tale i've been hearing is that once an engine blows a head gasket it is much more likely to do it again. Is this true at all? What about in the case of the m20b25? Found a cabrio with a replaced head gasket and i've been hearing that it will probably blow again.
West German BMWs, they just don't make the same as they did before the wall fell.
^Case in point: Auto-Repair Technology. Everytime my car isn't starting or acting up I let it sit, sometimes for an hour, sometimes for days. But it eventually fixes itself.

It's more likely if it was not done correctly.

that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
actually I would think if it was done correctly- it would hold up better.

If done correctly the head & gasket will hold up like that of a new engine.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

If the job is done right also means not using the cheapest cylinder head gasket kit available. I won't even consider anything less than a BMW OEM Head set.

Even the OES and "premium" Aftermarket sets suck ass.

I could see this being true if the head gasket blew, then the car overheated and the head warped and wasn't machine properly back flat. Then it would just leak again no matter how new the gasket was.

It will leak again. Eventually. Of this, I am certain.

Immediately, no. As long as shits done right it'll last a good long time.
