Anyone ever made their own turbine wheel covers?

Idea I've been toying with recently after considering replacing/refinishing my Simmons for a change of pace..

I've decided to keep the wheels, but would love to design and produce some turbo fans that will fit onto the without modifying the actual wheel.. Perhaps even a universal style fan that could fit other styles of wheel as well..

I've searched to see if something similar has been attempted and did find these images on vortex, though was unable to find any completed pics or information..

Inspirational images: (please post more if you have them!) Here are a few for now..

    And lots more:

i bet it would be simple if you had the laser cutting machines and stuff. but home DIY turbine covers may not look too nice.

how did you figure on mounting them to the wheels?

Definitely plan to use a laser cutter. Material would be aluminum, could potentially be a one piece design or a disc with bolt on fins such as on the porsche example above. I'm considering Using the 3 piece assembly bolts as mounting points. Perhaps 4 of them since these are 20 bolt wheels.
