    Finally caught my break

Sorry R3V just another rant, but a good one. Backstory:I'm 22 years old and I have been in the restaurant business for as long as I can remember. I've always had bad luck finding a decent job. So, I moved out to Phoenix about a year ago from Cincinnati and have had extremely bad luck with jobs; getting laid off, getting paid 1/4 of what I was promised, 1/2 the hours I was promised and have had to bounce around from job to job trying to make ends meet and having nothing left to work on my e30 or even being able to afford to take my girl out to the movies and a nice dinner. But not anymore. Today I was offered a position at Pinnacle Nissan in Scottsdale, AZ as a car sales rep.I've already talked to alot of the other reps and just doing AVERAGE work I should expect around $4-6k a month. And $4k is my base salary a month!! Finally I can plant my feet into something I like that can allow me to have a life and finally afford to have some fun. Thanks for listening R3V, sorry for unprovoked rant I'm just extremely excited:D

That's a decent salary. Don't blow it all on your car. There's still hookers and blow you'll need too.

True, I'm counting my chickens before they hatch but I'm looking through to see what newer car I'd want for a daily. My e30 stranded me out in Scottsdale after my interview next to the dealership, and one of the questions they asked was "do you have a reliable means of transportation to and from work?"
Any suggestions guys? I trust the taste of R3V to match mine?

With the new money you should pay down your debt, if any, save for rainy days, save for future expansion (like marriage) then buy yourself a reliable mean of transportation (used Civic, Jetta, or Corolla). Any extra money can be put toward your toy. Plan it out and do not live paycheck-to-paycheck.

So is it a job as a car salesman? I would be careful at first you are not going to be making the money you imagine you will. Also since you are at a dealer, STAY OUT OF OTHER PEOPLE'S CRAP! They will try to draw you into their drama, just don't do it.

Yeah I was real cautious about what I'll be making at first, but I was given 2 pay plans. I can't really go over details cause I signed off on it, (knowing my luck my employer would be on here and catch this and I fuck it up). But I'm on salary first 2 months which come out to $4k flat with wiggle room depending on how many cars I sell. After 2nd month I'm on commission. I tend to keep to myself anyways. I hate drama so I wouldn't like to hear someone else's.

Just remember the drama thing, everyone is like a fucking woman at the dealership, it's pathetic!

Watch out for the speed cameras in the median on FLW between the 101 and scottsdale road too.

I KNOW! Those cameras caught me when I first moved out here. Before I moved out here I had never seen traffic cams, and they're everywhere in Scottsdale. Sounds like you have some experience in a dealership.

Congrats on the new job. It's always a good feeling to get something that you know will make a difference. Like everyone said, don't expect to make a ton when you're in training there. Good luck with everything!
