    Any other X3 owners here?

Just curious...wouldn't mind connecting with some other owners here.

I'm on my second one, a 2006. Black leather, premium, cold weather, sport, adaptive headlights, factory alarm, bluetooth, sat prep etc.

I've put 35k on it in the last 8 months and it's been flawless. No issues at all.

I've changed enough E83 transfer cases out to let you know, it's an easy job to swap em out. Great vehicles otherwise.

Good to know =) Didn't realize they had transfer case problems. Any idea on the typical mileage this happens?

xoutpost seems very x5 heavy. I browse it every now and again.

I guess for the DIY's it's on me to just get in there and sort it out for myself. A lot of the stuff is from the e46 so there is overlap there on procedures and parts, etc.

Can't tell if you have a sunroof or not... If so, open it sparingly. It's an expensive repair just waiting to happen.

I do....my understanding is that they fixed that problem on 06+. Mine works flawlessly. On my 05, it rattled from the day I drove it off the lot. Got it fixed once and then just stopped using it. lol...but I am also in Oregon, so it doesn't get a ton of use. mostly vented.

My Mom has one as well, 06 3.0i

Anyone know what could cause the traction control to kick on around corners. Doesn't matter if its wet or dry, if you go around a corner about mid way threw the traction control just randomly kicks on for no reason.

isn't it supposed to do that? to keep the back end from coming out and oversteering?...isnt' that the purpose of trac. control?

Nah, it's not that obtrusive. I only see it kick in on ice or in snow...no idea.

                              this
we've had a 2.5 non sport since 2005, 120k miles and the sunroof crapped out about 3 years ago. no repair parts, BMW just replaces the whole thing like a cartridge. $3500 job. otherwise have been very happy with the X3.
