I love Scandinavian women, cars from Volvo not as much, unless custom built by Scandinavians

little woman is of 100% Finnish heritage though being 4th generation American, kinda the best of both worlds for me.

I always loved these wagons, ever since the early 850 models. For whatever reason Volvos depreciate sharply so it's pretty easy to pick them up at around $3000.

The 1995 TR5 is probably the most popular of these models. Porsche assisted Volvo in the development of this car. It was available only in only 2 colors, yellow and black. Only 185 of these models came to the US.

In 1996 Volvo changed its name to 850R, and introduced the wagon version.

The v70R versions are all wheel drive. They can also be picked up reasonably cheap, but some of the parts are a little more expensive.

I was looking specifically for a non R model, turbo with a manual tranny so it took me a little longer to find one.

Ask someone who's owned a BMW and a Volvo for years THEN you'll understand why.

No such animal as a TR5 exists, only the T5-R and Porsche only assisted with the development of the ENGINE, everything else is Volvo's fault...not Ford, but Volvo.

T5-R is cool, but came to US only in automatic.
That one that was posted above belonged to a guy from Sacramento named Doug, who manual swapped it. Theres a guy in AZ who has a 6-spd swapped T5R. Pretty dope.

And yes, swedish women + nicely done volvos = happy me.

ALSO: T5-R came in Yellow, Black, and Green.
I've had 3 Volvos so far.
Had the V70XC down in Sandiega with me, but traded back up north for the e30 2 weeks ago.

I have a friend who is going on about how fast his new '00 V70R is. He keeps saying that my car couldn't touch it, even in the twists. I doubt that it is as fast as he says even though it is AWD. Any of you driven one? How does it compare to a stock E30?

Must be semi local to me, I've seen that car three times on Greenback near my house.

Not sure how the V70R would do against a 325is on a straight line, but it better be able to beat a 20+ year old car. Having said that my e30 M42 vert is much more fun to drive than my V70 T5. I don't care that it is slower.

I assume that it will be faster in a straight line, but I just don't see a car that weighs that much more being faster in the corners.
