Okay, got it out yesterday. If Fedex didn't suck I'd be driving the truck today. Ordered a new ring from Will, should have been here the 22nd, but no....

I ended up drilling and tapping the ring, then running a bolt down into it. I pretty much kept ratcheting the bolt down until the ring came up. Very very easy. I tried it once before but must have had the wrong size bolt for the thread 'cause it just took the thread right out. :/

Anywho, I'm at SML right now, but I took a couple pics. It was a disaster. Ended up coming out in like 4 pieces.

I'm just glad it's done and over with and I can start driving her again. M3 needs new tired real bad and I'm tired of driving it DD status.

    Update:

Last night I began breaking the ring up. After consulting with you guys, and Charlie at X-roads, I decided this was the route to go. I'm basically drilling it, and then chiseling it off. Just got off the phone with Will and he's sending me a new ABS ring tomorrow, not that I'll be able to work on it as we're going to the lake. :/

Spend a couple more hours tonight beating it apart and I'll probably assemble the hub/bearings and change the front pads.

If only we lived in the UK where there is no such thing as rust or corrosion....wait....uhhh.....yeah.

Not to scale...obviously, but close. I see some errors looking back on it, but gets the idea.

    Hokay.....here we go.

Red is the ABS ring. Blue is the bolts that hold to disc to the hub. They are under the ABS ring.

As you can see, there is no room to press on the ABs ring studs. I've tried. It doesn't work.

Here is a pic of the ABS ring (Thanks eBay!).

You see, it sits flat again the inside of the brake disc, as it has reliefs to go over the bolts, disc to hub. Therefore, the ABS disc rusts to the brake disc...and has a lot of metal to metal to rust to.

    Dumb dumb dumb.

Is there no way to press it apart?

I'm close to doing that. Gonna see if letting it sit like that did anything. If anything, I may drill it and tap it, thread a bolt into it, then go at it with a slide hammer. We've got one with a set of vice grips welded to it. Very useful, lol.

Still stuck on there. I heated it hardcore. Soaked it in WD, hit it, hit it harder, etc, etc.

At this point I'm probably looking at getting another ring, or just removing the ABS altogether.

I set it on the floor and filled the inside of the disc with WD. There was a CCA meet so I didn't get but about an hour to mess with it.
