How much is this 1992 E34 M5 worth? Need input.

I may be considering this car. I know the owner and he's owned it for quite awhile. He said he needs to make space, he asked me to do some research before he hands the keys over so we can agree on a price. I need your help R3V. The engine sounds really healthy by the way and everything works including the A/C. He said that if anything goes wrong within a year he's willing to fix it. Sounds good to me lol Info from the owner..

Tons of work done in engine bay

I have no idea what kind of bodykit is on this car and I don't think its my style at all.. if anybody knows what it is please say so. Im not worried too much about cosmetics, just want to know how much you guys would pay for an M5 in this condition. Much appreciated..

$5k tops. Body kit and wacko front grill devalue it from a nice original example (not a punkass kid assessment). If you dare, post this on M5board and see what kind of response you get.

I bet the owner is off his rocker and wants like 9-11k for it.

                        Cons:
                        Horrible body kit
                        thumbtacks in doors
                        holes in fenders
                        chrome grillz
rear seat bottom all messed up

                        Pros:
                        Paint looks good
                        Leather seems good
                        "tons of work"
                        "$2000 sound system"

                        $5-6K is my guess

Much appreciated. For some reason I am not as bothered with the body kit. Probably because I drove it and LOVED the way it drives. I have an Uncle that owns a body shop also. I want to turn THAT into THIS

If he doesn't have a stack of paperwork records then that $5k car could be a time bomb.

s38 engine work is not cheap.

At least do a compression and leak down test and see what the numbers are.
