The element is a good car if you have pets. Rear seats fold out of the way, fully rubberized floor, can just hose it off when the dog has an accident. And you can get it in manual.

Keep her in the Honda for as long as you possibly can. When you are driving, just take something else!

Keep the car. Save money, why have another car payment? We have a 04 X3 that has been real reliable (knock on wood) paid off and not even thinking about replacing it. Driving till the wheels fall off.

That right there is the answer.... get her what car you think she needs... see how that works! Three years from now, when you think everything is just fine and happy, she brings up the topic of the car you made her get, how she never liked it, the seats are too stiff, tough time seeing out of it, too tall, too short, too red....

Keep the Accord and save money for a toy car/parts...I've kept my 2000 Accord coupe since new and have had no problems with it...I drive it all over Europe and it has always been my old reliable...How much longer do you have left on you Accord until it is yours?

Perhaps a Chevy Cruze Eco, manual trans. They have an extra tall 6th gear that is good for 42 mpg. They are also 200lbs lighter weight than a fully loaded automatic Cruze. Did I mention it is turbo?

After a few thousand miles with my Flex, I can confidently say the wife will be getting an Explorer with any more family additions to replace her Jetta.

Ford is doing some good things. I know it is not a BMW but a good car is a good car.

Look into the Escape, Edge and Explorer or if you really need space, the Flex.

And if it is time to get rid of the Honda, get your wife into a newer, bigger, safer, whatever car, ya it is nice to save money. Sure drive the same car for all your life. But when it comes to the safety and convenience of my family, I am willing to pay.
