Keep the Accord and save money for a toy car/parts...I've kept my 2000 Accord coupe since new and have had no problems with it...I drive it all over Europe and it has always been my old reliable...How much longer do you have left on you Accord until it is yours?

That right there is the answer.... get her what car you think she needs... see how that works! Three years from now, when you think everything is just fine and happy, she brings up the topic of the car you made her get, how she never liked it, the seats are too stiff, tough time seeing out of it, too tall, too short, too red....

So your bitching about having a reliable car, cheap car payments, and shes happy with it. But you don't like it because you don't like automatics. Sounds like she needs to get rid of you.

Keep the car. Save money, why have another car payment? We have a 04 X3 that has been real reliable (knock on wood) paid off and not even thinking about replacing it. Driving till the wheels fall off.

Keep her in the Honda for as long as you possibly can. When you are driving, just take something else!

The element is a good car if you have pets. Rear seats fold out of the way, fully rubberized floor, can just hose it off when the dog has an accident. And you can get it in manual.

                    Keep it slideways!!

Honda Element has THE worse blind spots imaginable on a motor driven vehicle.

I dunno, I thought that honor went to the PT cruiser.

The new FJ Cruiser has pretty terrible visibility as well. We are pretty spoiled by our E30s, though.

OP you really should just let her get the car she wants. Sticking with the Accord is probably your best bet, and if you (and by you I mean her) are set on replacing it then go with the Element. Aside from the apparent blind spot issues it would be an amazing car for her and her needs and I personally don't find them off-putting like you do.

Save the money. Why get rid of a reliable the car that works?

But if you must have a reliable car for the dog, I'd vote for a e91 BMW's. They're pretty reliable and are available in 6MT. For the dog, get the rubber cargo mat, and a net to prevent the dog from jumping forward.

I'd totally rock a e91 when the time comes for kids.

Remove all interior in current car, toss carpet, spray bedliner, customize rear seats to pull out easy. Then slam it, rust it, turbo it.
