Funny that their 350 hp Camaro with more power than the general public would have was outrun by a 190 horsepower 4 cylinder BMW with a 15 YEAR OLD DRIVER!

I love how they comment on "numerous lane change violations" lol. I also love how the kid "made a jerking movement with his shoulders" and instead of applying the brakes, the officer decided to swerve into the lane with the m3, back to the other lane, and then spin out.

He did not breakdown but he did run out of gas was the story I got, think about he drove from KC to past Rossville that is like 80+ miles at 130mph, I doubt it was getting over 10mpg at that speed.

Everytime I pass Rossville on I-70 I think about that kid and his badass manuevers.

wrong. this is such old news, the video has been posted more than once on most BMW forums. The car was used as the kid's father's driving school car, it had a 2.5 and some suspension work. He got away and the police found him at his house later that day. Somebody else already mentioned that. Please read every post before you say something.

Clearly the cop car was able to match him in terms of acceleration, the cop was just stupid and a bad driver. They only quote the car as having 240hp because they probably knew it was an M3, and they just looked up the specs for an E36. They only say "supercharged" because they know the car is fast; they probably don't know what an actual supercharger is.

Ziggens beat me to it but it happened in 1996 and those idiots on the show just thought "M3" and didnt think about the year. It was a pretty much stock E30 M3 owned by a club member in Topeka and its true that the kid got away and drove home. They just replayed the footage of the part where he turns around in the median. You can see the same natural gas well and billboard.

I can only imagine the ass-whoopin he got when the cops showed up.

The pig was the funniest part of the story. With all the misinformation that was in that tidbit of story, it makes you wonder and suspect all other TV media. Well, I do that already, but ya know.... to the average ignorant citizen, it should arise some sort of "think for myself"-ness. Eh, I think I give people too much credit. I love actually knowing enough about something to know when people are just bullshitting their way through things that most people know nothing about and since they are in a position of trust/power people just trust their word. I think they expect people to not give a shit in general. Most people saw this on TV and that was it they forgot about it the next day. Its enertainment (and IMO propaganda for law enforcement) so most people havent disected it like us. Imagine they arrest some fucker going fly fishing on "Cops" and there are inconsitencies in the current and barometric pressure (not like you can tell from film, but you get my point) you think wed be able to notice or give a flying shit? Id love to know more about everything so I could be a much better informed person. Imagine all the shit you could catch on TV from people who are feeding you this BS. Ahhh, knowledge. :)
