Not worth it price/performance wise. That much money buys a lot more than an 80's superboat.
If you only consider price/performance an old Bimmer is never gonna be the best choice. The 20k you spend on an E30 M3 will get you a much faster STi, Evo, RX8, S2000, etc. You don't buy an old BMW based on price/performance, you buy them because they're great driver's cars, unique, and good looking.

Yes, but the demand for these vintage bimmers is not as great as say older muscle cars. That is why we think the asking price is too high. I will expect to see the car still for sale a year from now.
BC a true old muscle car in mint condition handles as good as this? And is as stylish and comfy? Come on, that's personal taste at work. Low mile original ero m6? In great condition?
1987 fedralized m6 value
Little bit different.
I know this comparison is weak, but a euro m6 is as close to the camero as bmw came in 85, so who's to say in 20 years the m6 won't be worth this much?
my family had a euro import m6 that was as nice as this minus the alpinas and didnt cost a fraction of that, even though it was in 1999/2000. that price is ridiculous

I'm not sure that M6 is worth anywhere near the asking price, I just think approaching the issue purely from a price/performance standpoint is illogical.
