    I am no math wiz...

This equation has always perplexed me:

    E30 + E36 motor = E46 price

Is this reasoning alright with everyone?? I've had a few shift beers so please explain slowly...

Not okay. Especially when, oh idunno, the sunroof is siliconed shut, or the dash has a crack, or theres a rusty valence, or it isn't an m3, or it is a swapped e30.

          me blind.... see what??

and what's an e46 worth anyways?? I only look at e30's
and a swapped e30 can be 5-12 thousand so that is a HUGE window

some are exceptional to this rule,
            but most are not.

a few off the top my head

            Danny.
a few others i am obviously forgetting....

but non M e46's aren't even that high in price anymore....
can be had for 5-8k in fair condition.
an e30 with e36 24v swap could be worth 2-3k in bad condition, 4-5.5k in fair condition. and 6-12k in great condition with the right mods/wheels.

Simple. Most people who would pay that much for an e30 wouldn't really consider any other car. In my mind I have a price scale for all e30's, and then one for all other cars. I never think about how a 20 year old car is worth more than a 10 year old car that's technically better in every way, and most people who buy expensive e30's think the same way.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

If the price of a modified e30 is hard for you to comprehend, then feel free to sell your e30 and buy that bone stock e46.
