    e30 fusebox relocation

I've done a little searching and was wondering who has seen an e30 with the fusebox relocated, I'm looking for ideas other then what I have planned before I just do it.

        Extend wires

        Mount fuse box.

        Done....

What else is there to know? Why not do full raze and put them in your dash.

Good luck. There are a LOT of wires running into the fusebox that are only long enough to reach. Basically you would have to rewire the entire car.

You make it sound harder then it really is. It is not hard just time consuming.

pretty much you need to just gut the entire car. start pulling wires from rear to front and out the firewall. Place the fuse box inside the car and rerun all of your wires back in place. Its not all that hard, but a lot of work.

Depending on your schedule, you are welcome to come help me do mine.

We are building an entire new dash and door panels, wiring will be part of that build. This means that the motor will be out, the windshield out, and no dashboard...might make it a bit easier.

I am putting the DME basically where your ABS brain is, and the fuseblock where the DME currently lives. C101 will be firewall mounted near the heater hose inlet.

I am using a modded '89 harness on my '84. I will integrate a body controller from an E34 or E36 as window controller, sunroof controller, RAP, etc. I want the remote start system to be fully integrated into the wiring system, should be a fairly intense job. I have not done any truly intense wiring in a few years, should be fun.

It will retain all factory functions, but none of it will be where BMW put it. I will also add quite a bit of functionality such as "all close", dual battery, etc.

I have 3 complete harnesses aside form the '89, so I will be extending, wrapping, fender routing, etc. There will be an assload of proper BMW wire left over if you might want it. The only rule is you have to promise to NOT give it back.

                Luke

The only thing I might want to do other then what I have planned is to add new locks and a alarm system. I am rewiring the whole car and I'm putting the fuse box in the trunk along with the washer fluid res. When do you plan on working on yours? I'm free most weekends and I also live in lacey now so It's a lot closer to you.
