    I replaced all of my ignition components and added a chip, all in the same day, and noticed a nice increase in mpg.

    I noticed a 2-3 mpg decrease when I did it to my nice, rare E30 Touring that needed some cosmetic restoration.

    I only left a small hole for me to fit in , all other open space was welded shut.

    i think the best and inexpensive mod I did was putting in a performance chip.
    I would get about 29.7mpg @ average of 65 mph.

    Weight reduction don't need it remove it. Gut the trunk, interior, remove A/C, power steering delete, elcetric fan conversion.

    Less right foot, more 5th gear.
