Can someone do a "How to use the search function" DIY? That'd be handy.

I am a member of the e39 board on bimmerforums and they have a thread at the top of the page when you enter the board that only the mods can modify. Basically, if there is a diy, the mods move it to that page. Members can reply to the post, but it has to be moved there by a mod. Nice concept. All of the diys are in one thread.

Bimmerforums is the preferred online BMW Forum and community for BMW owners. At Bimmerforums, you will find technical how-to information maintenance specifics audio advice wheel and tire combinations and model specific details not found anywhere else. Our professionals are here to help make sure you find the answers you need to your questions and our community is here to help other brainstorm ideas for the future.

There are lots of creative people in this community doing so fancy mods. The goal for this thread was to give people ideas on what kind of projects are easy enough for beginners to change up their car. They dont have to be full write ups but just give people an idea of what you did, what you used, how you did it and what challanges you faced. **If there is a good active link then just link it here**

Here a list of stuff I have done before that might give others some ideas.(yes it is repetitive)
-all red taillights (materials:masking tape, VHT Red Lens paint, 2000 grit sandpaper or fine scouring pad) Clean area to be painted thoroughly, mask off, lightly rough up the surface, wipe clean and dry and use 2-3 light coats of paint.
-euro plate filler (purchase from bluntech or abrahamsmotorsport and install-self explanatory)
-mirrors or grill refresher (materials:black paint trim, masking tape, 600 grit sandpaper or fine scouring pad) Clean area to be painted thoroughly, mask off, rough up the surface to get rid of imperfections and remove and shiny surfaces, wipe clean and dry and use 2-3 light coats of paint.

I will be updating with more as I get them done as long as before and after pictures.
I personally think that is a great idea! As stated before a tips & tricks for beginners thread, would be great idea for those who don't know the proper route to take.

                  Timing/water pump
                  Neglected maintenance
                  Suspension
                  wheels

Those are really the most needed things for the e30 from the years of daily use. Everything else is personal taste add ons that can be searched for. I had no issues learning what is good to buy/upgrade. Searching function is not really useful unless you're after some info. Build threads is where ALLLLLLL the info is at. Step by step instructions, and most of the time detailed pictures to help along the way. Not trying to be a Troll or offensive, but there is more info in the project section than any newcomer can handle in a few years.

Before I read this, I was planning to follow this writeup: [link] closeups of results: [link]

Your method seems simpler. I was wondering what kind of texture it leaves? In the closeups linked above, there is a bit of a texture difference.

I also found another method, which uses a clear tint film instead of spray: [link]

By the way, I have a lot of respect for the non-noobs, but why the hate? Didn't Socrates say something like the wisest man knows only the the full extent of his ignorance? Sometimes the way that you would do something isn't the only way it can be done, nor the absolute best.
