I have considered putting in a new engine and tranny, along with matching wheels and etc, but I think Ill just pass on this one. I can't stop thinking about all the possibilities and potentials, but as mentioned above, it does look like a bit of a money pit.

That sir, is a great candidate for a parts car, or parts car turned complete ground up resto.

Spend accordingly. I would still pay $400 for it. The shell alone is worth 1/4 that in scrap.

Not a penny more than that though.

But yikes. That thing looks like a money pit. If you want to try and save it good for you, but I think your pretty well aware of what you would be getting into. Also diamond schwartz is the shit, who cares if it's cliche or not.

So I just got back after checking out this E30. Its one of the worst Ive seen so far. Ive attached a few photos of the car to show the exterior flaws..which is not too bad compared to the mechanical problems it had. First of all, the engine has a vacuum leak somewhere. And to counter that, the owner tuned the car to run at low rpm.. When I cranked up the car, it sounded like a hotrod truck, and the RPM was surging for about 2-3 minutes. The transmission needs to be replaced. 3rd gear syncro is dead and I almost got stuck while test driving it. :D I also couldn't engage into reverse. The dashboard was lit up like a christmas tree, steering rack squeals bad and dash had the usual cracking. Overall, condition is about 3 out of 10.

Not sure if I can bear keeping a long bumper for long :D, but if i were to get this e30, plan is to fix up the wear and tear and paint it diamond schwartz. I suppose this color might be a bit cliche on this forum, but I love it.

I saw that ad, and I too am curious to hear more about it. Based on the pics I'd say $5-600.

Agree. No pics of the front I'm sure the valance is gone. That's an expensive piece.

Thanks for all the replies. So the estimated value is around $4-500? That's cheaper than I thought. The sellers asking price is $1200. My guess was around $900.
