Need advice on Craigs add, 89' 325is

    Here's the add:

^^^Now I only have 4000 for my first car and I've been hunting for a 89' 325is for about a year now and I have been patient for the right one. I hate the M spoiler and the roads around here suck so I wouldn't like the lowering, and I have driven a E30 with a stage two clutch and is not good what so ever! Mileage? Motor was gone through? What should I ask for about the car and price wise?

Why are you going to buy if if you like nothing about it. You will just spend all your time undoing what the PO has done.

I would just look for a non molested one. You may have to search a little longer but, you will get something that you are happy with and prolly better maintained.

Keep looking. I had to buy an autotragic '89 325is to get what i wanted (sort of)
Figure out the important things to you and refine your search.

unless that car was exactly what i was looking for, i wouldnt buy it.
                the mileage is high.
i bet its been driven too hard based upon the limited info.
iiwm, i would get a low mileage original car.
im not an expert but cant you add IS stuff to an I
now if you have to have the IS [whynot...its your one life] then that makes it a tuff call.
maybe dont just look for local cars. i bet a flight to cali would have good results.

My best advice is to not rush into. If possible you may see if a R3V member from the mountain section would like to tag along to check out a car if you find one.

haha 325ix, your the one I was trying to but the tail light from but my weekend cluttered so quickly it didn't happen. in about two weeks my dads ix is going into get the body fixed and he needs the tail light to realign the car as best as he can so I guess i will text you about that.

But anyways I want my first E30 to be a little bit special since I love my dads so much, and his is a coupe. Anyhoodle I think that I'll take a look, he said he's close by and I'll report what happens when we meet. If it is molested as said I will walk away as I have done with many, but if it turns out not so bad I will have a shop, Bimmerhaus, look at it and see what they say.

                    Thanks for the advice.

This has been my motto for the adventure of finding an E30 that fits right and I am more then ready to walk away from this car if it does not satisfy me. And since I can't travel because, well because I am just looking for my first car and money is a lil tight as you can understand at 16. Also it will sit in a high school parking lot, the next two years may not be the best years the car has seen. BTW, Colorado has shit for E30's. No coupe's, and a lot of PRNDL sticks.

If you want a good deal and a fixer upper: http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/3129305617.html

Grab 325ix's plastic bumpers and you'd be set.
