OP, if you plan on swapping an M54, search for member 'hoveringuy' and check his blog here: http://m54megasquirt3.blogspot.com/. he's done a lot of pioneering work with the m54 into an e30.

Fixed the intake boot leak by buying a new one. Acceleration is still a bit lumpy but a friend of mine tells me it's normal on the motronic 1.0 engines and told me to unplug the 02 sensor to smooth it out. Which I did and it did smooth out.

The A/C doesn't work. IIRC the A/C button should light up blue, it doesn't so I may take it apart and clean it and or manually turn on the compressor while it's running to see if it cools.

I can get a hold of an I engine and do a complete swap for cheap. Should I even bother or leave it with the original engine with it's relatively low mileage? I wouldn't want to mess with such a clean example too much. Thoughts?

A 2.7i? I already have a 173 ECU laying around lol. Hard part is going to find all the parts to do the swap. Anyone have an I head with engine harness and motronic 1.3 sensors, and cluster I could buy?
