so basically a fuel line broke (dry rot probably) and up it went. The body and interior are still pretty straight. The "fire wall" definitely did it's job. I don't have full coverage on the car so no help from insurance. I was picking it up from a shop that was replacing the camshaft and crankshaft sensors when it happened so they are supposedly checking to see if their insurance will cover anything. I'd hate to scrap it for parts as I really do love this car.
Any competent mechanic should have immediately told you the fuel lines needed to be replaced if he was working under the hood of your car.
