It's mostly painless, you don't ship it back till payopal tells you to, and give them the tracking info, when the time comes paypal will give you his address

YOu aren't the first to have a prob with this guy though

fwiw you can contact him directly by the e-mail addy that you paypal'ed

Yeah, I saw that feedback thread, and it looked good besides your comment. So I decided to go for it and got duped. I really hope he just didn't know about it being a replica. He said a week ago that he bought it during a group buy and could show me the receipt of the purchase. Going off of that, I really didn't expect this...

Sucks to hear man. That happened to me about a year and a half ago, with a different member who disappeared after he shipped the fake chip. I met bwawuz02 a few weeks ago driving off base here. He seems like a stand up guy. Regardless, just go through the motions with Paypal and you'll be set straight.

P.S. There are a lot of MarkD copies around. Most of which, people don't realize they're copies.

Him and Hakken seem to be the current chip counterfeit guys.

On another note, I haven't got an update from PayPal yet. What am I supposed to be waiting for?

patience grasshopper. paypal can be slow, took me almost a month to get back $70 once.
Red-ish 89 325ix with dent in the door, bad paint, missing center caps, broken defrost, broken ac, p/s pump may be going, brake pad sensors missing. On the plus side i just had the trannie and tc fixed for 2 grand!!

Seriously sucks man but listen to everyone on here and myself as well. Paypal will do all of the work, you just need to be patient. Even if the guy emptied his paypal account and has no money in it, Paypal will foot the bill and collect on that guys credit in the long run.....Just be patient

I decided to post that only because it still seemed like you were nervous.....just wait it out man

He sold it knowing it was fake.

That's why he has been permanently banned.

                    Best of luck!

This is why when you purchase something on Paypal, use a card, credit or debit. That way your bank can back charge it. No wait.

Haha, yeah I guess I am somewhat nervous. I've just never been through a process like this. It's upsetting to hear that he knowingly sold a counterfeit. I suppose you never know what kind of person you're dealing with.

But also, I think my PayPal uses my credit card to pay for things. If this is true, can I just back charge it if all else fails? Thanks a lot guys!

Yes, you can call your credit card company and they can backcharge. I recently did this with my bank after purchasing a MS1 with a toasted board that was advertised as a MS3 in good condition.

Ok, so what would happen to the PayPal claim? And would I need to provide evidence to the credit card company?

What happened when I did it, was once paypal got the notification they put my account into the negative for a day. Then they realized what was going on and credited me the amount, and took it from the seller. It still isn't resolved, and its been about 3 weeks, but they have not penalized me, and I still have the tracking number from sending him the package back.

You don't need proof, just tell them that you were sold something, and when it came in you found it to have been falsely advertised.
