    Manufacturing country for aftermarket parts.

Just conducting a small poll for a class assignment.
    Any participation is greatly appreciated.

Basically my question is on a scale from 1-10 how important (10 being most important 1 being least important) is the country of manufacture for any aftermarket parts you purchase for your BMW(s).

Obviously one can assume parts manufactured in Germany or the United Sates are significantly more expensive then the Chinese counterparts, but taking that into consideration how important is it that parts be made in Germany or other countries you find equivalent to the quality of German made parts.

Comments are appreciated as well, and may be used in the report.

    Thanks.

I think that parts made in the USA and Germany tend to be more consistent in there quality but I think that as long as parts are still made in western Europe or Japan tend to also be constant quality wise just not Chinese

I only buy from known German makers and USA places. Not sure how much the USA stuff is outsourced.

I STILL buy German over USA.

Germany, Japan, US in that order for me. Too much US stuff is outsourced and stamped "Made in USA", although I do like Adam's polishes forums that has a very good subforum for all items made domestically

Doesn't matter where it's made, as long as it is made by a good company that did the design themselves. If somewhere in China there was an e30-specific shop that was making a new product, I would buy it. But if it's just a replica of a part that is originally designed in another country, I'm buying the original.
