    Valve cover refinish DIY?

I'd like to make my valve cover sparke like Lil'Waynes teeth.

is there a way to do it right?

    wire brush and drill?

I wanna make the "BMW" and the raised lines "pop".

not looking to spend a fortune, just looking for a good DYI write up.
what grits to use, proper paint, application techniques etc.

I've done a bunch before, but end up looking like ass.

    Send it to Renewed Finishes.

    That's my plan :D

They quoted me $80 for an M20 valve cover. That includes:
    • Strip
    • Blast
    • Degrease
    • Prep
    • Lettering and stripes in a polish or different color
    • Cover color
    • Clear coat on non wrinkle/textures

Here's where they get their powder (http://www.prismaticpowders.com/). Prismatic sends out 5 color swatches for free to sample.

I don't think $80 is too bad considering the supplies you would have to purchase to do it yourself and the time it would take. Seems very fair to me.

Honestly I built it just to have a place to sit and listen to Hotline Bling on repeat.

It wouldn't be more than $15 or so to ship it...
