    Where can I get this stuff now. Since its basically impossible to see it at your local auto shop store.

      Local mechanics, most still carry it and work with it.

      Car forums.

      There are a number of alternative replacements for it as well.
      Different strokes for different folks.

                  Just make sure to fix your leaks otherwise you will be donating your expensive r-12 to the atmosphere.

                    freeze 12 works the same and can be mixed with r-12


                    Current: '92 325i Vert

                    Past: '84 Euro 320i -Had to leave in Italy

                      FWIW, r414b refrigerant seems to be directly compatible w/ r12 and is readily available. More info here, LINK

                            They sell kits at that have a UV dye in them. Inject and circulate into the system, then use a flashlight or wear some cool goggles to spot the leaks.
