    general questions

    hey guys,
just a couple of general questions.

i just moved to chicago, and i'm looking for a good bmw mechanic on the north side( i live in evanston). anybody know of any?

i remember running across a site where i could enter the VIN# of my e30 and get all the factory information on the car. anyone got that site handy?

and lastly, any suggestions on a good keyless entry system for the e30, and the pros and cons of remote start on this vehicle?

Well, if you install remote start, just remember to not start it when the car is parked in 1st gear. Carfax.com does the VIN thing, isn't free though. A couple members on this forum have subscriptions, if you post nicely you'll get a response. Welcome.

Would you mind posting a link the the VIN# id site? It sounds interesting.

as far as remote start/alarm -get a compustar. best system out there. and it has a safety function for the remote start so if you have a manual transmission it has to be in neutral for the remote start to work
