An E21 needs a lot of work to handle as well as an E30. Not worth it unless you're crazy about the chassis.

Ive had a 2002TII and a 2002TI Alpina 2,2 stroker and a bunch of E21s from 316 to 323i, and i have to say you are wrong there..
2002s are fun to drive, no doubt but they feels a bit shorter than the E21 so the handling is better on the E21. And they are a lot easyer to control when sliding..

Hmmm, it seems to clear on a local Alpina B6 that runs that setup...

M30 with front mount distributor will not fit in a E21, id say supercharged M20 is the perfect match..

Hey, 2002's had a better system for managing the front struts. For the E21, they messed it up!

If you like the looks, you can do something with them. They WILL become rare, because,
like many 70's cars, they had plenty of flaws...

my 82' stock 323i was an amazing car. I prefer them over the regular e21s because of the dual exhaust. Nothing beats the tail of that car, looks wise.

But, whatever. Some people hate the way E30s look... go figure... :::shrugs:::

I pretty much agree with everything above except the part about being ugly. E30's. Have unlimited aftermarket support. E21's certainly do not. In fact, the aftermarket "market" for that model is abysmal by comparison.

If you want an almost completely stock vehicle, this shouldn't be a problem for you. If you want to mod, choose a different car

    ^ Hog Wash!

E21s are super sexy if done right. I would just put a M20 in it and turbo it.

Let me ask you a question, is this ugly?
