    '92 E34 Wagon?

Found a 1992 525i Wagon. 122k, said to be in excellent condition, leather seats, and roof racks. Looks perfect in the pictures, don't know my E34 colors, but it's a darker silver.

They're asking $4950, but I have no clue what one of these is worth. The price seems completely reasonable if it's in as good condition as it sounds. Hopefully will check it out tomorrow if it's still there.

    What kind price is reasonable?

Any specific things to watch out for on these?

I'd say 6-7k is reasonable for a well-sorted e39 with proper maintenance and reasonably low miles.
That being said, I'd say $3,800-$4,500 would be reasonable for an e34 with the same upkeep as stated before.

That's just me. Aim for the lowest price possible and shoot!

Arktik silver. 6-7 is ok if it's in great shape (no rust, rear hatch wire loom is intact, sunroof works, headliner attached, window regulators)

I paid $3300 for my 93. Mountain of recent maintenance records totaling over $3k, lower mileage engine, roof and front end were resprayed, steelies and winter tires and a stack of parts. Car had 233k when I bought it, some rust on the doors, interior I would give a 7/10. Car has been rock solid for the last 5k miles. Front end has gotten a bit wobbly and I know the shocks are blown so I have bilsteins on the way.

The SLS rear suspension can be a fortune to replace with OE stuff ($720 a shock) and the tend to go out (mines got a leaky line) but they make SLS deletes for cheap. The sunroof is also a trouble issue so be careful with that. Otherwise, your normal 20 yr old BMW stuff.

Seems like alot to me. But I dont know if the Tourings go for more than the sedans.

If everything works (including the dual roof) and its pretty solid underneath that can be a fair price.

122k miles is not bad, assuming the A4S310R tranny is fine.

Check the sunroof, if it does nothing hold the button in to reset the motors, if the cables are damaged you are looking at tearing out the entire headliner and $400+ bucks in parts to rebuild the entire roof (not counting electronics mind you)

I did it on mine, the roof is one of the best parts on an E34 Wagon, it really is amazing when its working

I would jump on it. The darker silvers are amounst the more desired colors on 5'ers
The roof and the seals are a mother though. That price is very reasonable if it's in good condition.

198k, control arms, that sunroof looks like it has at least some issue... And it's in Atlanta?

Here's pics of the one I want to look at,

Anyone know realistic fuel economy figures for these guys? Seems pretty low, EPA gives it 15/23 which seems way too low, but I wouldn't know.

Mine was a fucking pig, both in handling and gas mileage. It was 95 that I paid $1800 for with 125k (needed a little suspension (non self-leveling)) . Alpine over black. I used to love wagons before I got it. I was going to say I hated it, but now that you've got me typing I kinda miss it. :-(. Then I bought a much nicer one with like 200k mint for $900. Both were pigs tho. iirc your about to have a kid so I'd go for it. Its a cool car. I'm sure you'll do it right because your e30 looks great. $5000 is a mint price tho and maybe still a little high. Try to to get it for $3k. I don't think people are going to be beating the sellers door down for a 92 touring for $5k. On a side note if you want one just get something with high miles that's clean (like my green one). Low mileage cars aren't for us. They didn't come in manual. So I'm sure a manual s50'd e34 touring would be worth as much as it cost you to swap if not more, be an easy swap and be and is going to be alot cooler than a plain jane auto m50 like I had. Just think about it.

I don't drive mine hard by any means on a daily basis, just derp along at the speed limit, don't accelerate fast (not that you can anyways). In my everyday drive, all city, my computer says I average around 19mpg. When I take it on the highway for trips, cruise set at 75 I average around 26mpg which isn't a whole lot worse than my E30 with my bike on the roof. This has all been with the A/C cranking non stop.

                            Here's mine.
