    Help Getting My Car's Value

I'm having a lot of trouble getting the mone for what my cars worth. I have to go through my insurance company to seek compensation for my totalled 325iX (see here) under my underinsured motorist coverage. They're telling me the market value of my car is $5,200 based on my cars mileage and similar cars in the market. My 325iX was in mint condition with 73,000 miles on it and not even a month before the accident, I had the engine rebuilt due to it sucking in some water and a new rebuilt transfercase from a warehouse from BMW in Germany put in the car. The car had another 16 or 17 years in it, easily.

Anyways, you can't find another 325iX in the condition mine was for the $5,200 they are claiming the market value to be. The $5,200 is the blue book and NADA value, not the market value. I have only been able to locate one 325iX with similar miles on Autotrader for $9,995. I bought mine with 56,000 miles on it a while back for $9,180 after tax. I know a lot of you will say thats a lot of money for an old e30, but the car was well worth it to me. I have an appraisal that was done on the car by the guy who runs the BMWCCA racing events for Northern Ohio at $10,500-12,000. I also have another appraisal that was done when I bought the car saying its worth $12,000. You all may think thats high, but a low mile 325iX is near impossible to find.

I need some help establishing the value of my car. I owe $5,600 on it. I am only looking to break even because I don't want to lose the $4,000 I already have in it. I'm broke now because of this accident and college. Things have been really hard having 7 broken ribs and a lung thats still not 100%.

Charlie Grafton told me that the production numbers for the e30 325iX are found in the "The BMW 3 Series Enthusiasts Companion." I don't have any money to purchase that book now because I am seriously broke now. If anyone has that book, I would greatly appreciate it if you could either scan the page that has the production numbers of the iX 2 door models for the year 1989 or the total as a whole. I would also need the page of the book that has the copyright info on it. That would help me out a lot.

If anyone else can find another e30 325iX that has similar miles on it for sale that would be great. I need to find cars that are for sale that are similar in price to what I paid. I don't want to walk away from an accident that wasn't my fault that injured me and fucked up my life in so many ways with a loss.

Thanks everyone. Sorry if this post jumps around or doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I am on pain pills and it makes it really hard to write anything thats objective. My mind runs every which way. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I had to do this not long ago. Not nearly as ncie of a car, but an e30 no less [and in ohio]. 91 318is 118k, wanted to give me 2600 after buy back. I was told to find as many as i could that are for sale and prove to the insurance company its value. Use what you have stated to show them, appraisals, quotes on work that was done to it, anything! Good luck, took me a little over a year to get 3900

I also did this recently(last year) after my car was totaled. They wanted to give me 2300, and after 6 months of negotiating, i finally recieved just under 3k.

            Good luck.

Do you have his email address by chance?

Does anyone have that book? I could REALLY use that. There were less than 2,000 of the 2 door automatics made a year. Pretty low compared to the other models.

I always plan to join the ix registry but find myself too lazy to walk outside and get my VIN number
