    Hello - New Member

    Hello all,

Just joined and wanted to say "Hello!". I've always wanted an E30 and am now focused on getting one. This will be a daily driver with some minor modifications of course. Anyone here from the Bay Area by any chance?

Question regarding the car. I've been looking for a 5 speed and they are pretty far and few, anyone know if going I should settle for an Auto or keep looking?

    Thank you guys.

Do you have two working legs?

If so you have no excuse for being auto.

There's a pretty large Bay Area crew. And there's much more 5 speed e30's then autos, unless I'm only seeing what I want to see. You shouldn't have a hard time at all finding a good one for sale. Give it a month or two if you can. If you're looking for a project you should be able to find one sooner. Typing "e30" into craigslist will get the better end of the cars, but it'll also be the more expensive ones.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

                      87's didn't have plastic bumpers.

Hey, this is solid information. No, unfortunately I do not know much about e30. Been reading the forums as time permits so any helpful information is definitely appreciated.

Question to all. I've seen A LOT of cars that have ODO that are no longer working. Can this be fixed or stay away?

What about cars that have had their engine rebuilt?

One other thing, why is called a slicktop versus hardtop? And everyone seems to shy away from convertibles, is there a particular reason why? Crappy maintenance or vert motor?

If you have to question between stick or auto, then get an auto.
