It did, they switched from Cardinal to Crimson in 89 or 90. And yeah Crimson is a darker red then Cardinal.

I have crimson then, in an 87? Swap? Because mine looks nothing like cardinal, more like crimson.

He's just saying he likes Cardinal better. That pic is cardinal since crimson is far darker. It maybe 90 as the change over year to crimson.
