Formal name for a police light bar

Okay, does anyone know if those things have a formal name?

Hawaii does not have black and white patrol cars. They are personal vehicles with a spinning blue strobe light on top, with no other indication of being a cop car. What would you guys call the light?
There isn't really a bar, and even if there was, "light bar" doesn't sound very formal :P

        Light Bar

I looked into getting one before.. When I went into a shop they went by light bar. I wanted to put on on my car so bad.. but instead I found an old single light that you see on Michigan State police cars. I got a Red lens for it and I put a magnet on the bottom, hot wired it to my car. I used it twice, once I pulled my friend over on a out-of-town road.. I absolutly DIED laughing when I walked up to him shining the light in his face so he couldn't see me "let me have your licesnse and registration you liittle fucker". He wanted to kick my ass. Another time I rolled into a party with the light on it was out in the woods and everybody just FLEED.. it was all good aftwards though.

Oh man, that would be sooooo much fun.

My wife's ex boyfriend in high school used to have a white Neon, and at night with just the parking lights on, it looked just like a cop car. He lived in this total suburb neighborhood where people were always doing like 90, so he and his friend used to sit at the corner at night with the parking lights on, and wait for people. When someone sped by, they would follow them for a while and freak them out.

We used to do the same thing in my friends Dodge Stratus, it even had dark ass tint so nobody could see in.

I thought about rigging strobes up to it once and puling up to a field party but I then thought about how I would feel if that happened to me, and the ass kicking that would ensue. Plus the JD wore off.
            Im now E30less.

The cops where I live have like LED ones, so there only 1-2 inches tall, and therefore very hard to spot at night.

              I bombed Korea every night.

My friend had an actual police light... I dunno where he got it, but it is the same that the cops over here use.

Another friend had blue strobes going across the grill of his camaro... undercovers over here have blue strobes hidden in their grills :P He used to bust the streetraces all the time

It all sounds good and fun, until you get arrested for impersonating an officer.
