For the record, my car doesn't excessively smoke or at all actually.
A wee bit if I'm WOT, but the street mentioned is usually congested and swarmed with police bikes considering it's near the city courthouse; not somewhere you'd ever do a WOT pull or any shenanigans for the matter.
My guess it's because my car is kind of loud, loppy, and gurgley at idle with a hint of gasoline smell and someone didn't like it.

If you say it doesn't smoke because you don't see smoke in the rear view mirror you can't actually be sure it isn't making smoke. Have a friend follow the car to see if it is smoking.
