Just wait until you get it to the point where it's too nice to take to the track, so you buy a second car for the racetrack. Then you make that one too nice to actually race because it's so nice and you can't bear the thought of wrecking it in an actual race, so you can only do DEs in it, so you have to buy a 3rd car to be a track rat... Yeah. Started selling plasma yet? Whatever you do, don't start talking to Levent at Guten Parts, or it's all over!

OP, I had an e46 a long time ago and then I bought an e30 just like you. I then just never drove the e46 because the e30 is so damn awesome so I sold the e46. Now I have 2 e30s. One is engine swapped and one is soon to be also engine swapped with also coil overs and lots of cool stuff. I'm completely obsessed with e30s now and a good portion of my income goes towards my e30s. I don't regret getting into e30s at all.
As far as having one car vs two there are good arguments for both.
Having two cars you can drive one while working on the other and vice versa. You can also go the route of making one more street friendly and one more of a track car.
On the other hand, with having only one car you can focus all your time and money on it and have a way better e30 than you would have splitting your time and money between two.
I would just sell the e90 and focus on the e30. The e30 is more worthy of putting money into anyway.Zinno '89 <24v swap in progress>

Good to know that I'm not the only one that's hooked into this car. I love it and I just want more. The barrier to entry (Cost wise) is so cheap that it's only after the fact that the cost starts to sink in.
How are you guys handling insurance for multi cars? Those of you that have 3-4 of these e30s. Full coverage on all??

Daily-ing an e30 is silly when you have an e90! I love the way my e30 drives but I soon hate it when I drive it for too long and wish I had a modern car. The e90 is depreciating any just drive it and mod the hell out of the e30.I want a nice set of smoked MHW's (I know, get it line)

Fun fact.
I have more rare and expensive shit in my e30 than a lot of owners ever seen in person.
And it's my rusty DD. My Rusty DD has better maintenence on it than a lot of owners on here do to their cars. It's worth far more in its parts than whole. But unlike a lot of cali owners who part out perfect examples, I won't part mine yet.
It drives too good and its rust isn't affecting that yet.
I need a rust free car... Bad.... I have even more rare and expensive shit that could go on a clean car.

OP...very true - i honestly can say even though my car isn't here now it's in VA, that not a day goes by where i'm not thinking "i need to get axles/diff/keep stereo stock?/upgrade brakes/maybe another set of tails/should i buy that sunroof?/is next step DTM CF Airbox?/i need to get the battery tray rust fixed/should i get that 50/50 header?/i need to put the M cluster in"...just a few
a few of these some of you may know the money involved and can see the cash register adding up. but im glad i have an E30, i don't put a price on something i enjoy so muchLast edited by keefy6; 10-12-2012, 09:03 AM.My old Style 5 Thread / My Swap
