I believe this is what happens to titanium when heated to a certain temp, which you can see on the other welds. The whole tip being blue, is most likely done for "looks".

All of the small touches of personalization are "rice" because they make your car different than others on the road and don't blend in with all of the other boring ones out there.

I don't see much blue on the welds, only (part of) the mufflers and the entire tip.

I am going to argue that a full exhaust from manifold to tips, entirely made of titanium is not rice.

You put more than 325ishwhp in a FWD car you completely lose handling. Fwd cars will alsob never be anywhere close to a 50/50 ratio... There not made for road racing. There not made for drag racing. There made because its cheaper to do and most drivers on the road can't handle a a rwd car in the winter lol.. there's a reason a Honda isn't called the ultimate driving machine

I'm well aware of what metals do when they are heated, I'm playing dumb to try to get you to realize that using that exhaust to say the car isn't rice is counter-intuitive. I'm sure that exhaust is of great quality and is quite expensive, but it's right up there with wrapping something in carbon fiber - purely for looks. And that is what the core of "rice" is.

The point that I trying to convey is that there are many was to skin the cat when trying to increase the performance of your vehicle, let's say in the area of power to weight ratio. You can increase the power (choose you preferred method) or reduce the weight by using lighter replacement parts (that exhaust being an example). Adding a turbo charger or supercharger would not be "rice" but reducing weight via the use of lighter parts (cf, titanium, your choice) would be?

This is where you got me wrong. For me adding a full, complete (original vs replica is a debate for another day) Alpina or Hartge body kit to a deserving e30 is not "rice". However according the opinion that is prevalent in this thread, it would be.

The only reason you would want a full titanium exhaust is to lose weight, mostly in the back of the car. In a Honda you don't need to lose weight in the back. It's already front heavy enough.
