    Ratcheting Wrenches?

Does anybody have these? If so, which ones do you have? I am looking to get some wrenches for Christmas and thought why not go all the way and get these. Are they worth paying the extra money for?

Box wrentches? I got a set at Harbor Freight a few months back for $7. Screw the snap-on/craftsman eliteists, my set works well. Honestly though, I haven't had as much use for them as I thought I would have. They're hard to fit in many spaces, as the head is a tad wider. They can still be very useful nonetheless. Well worth the $7 IMO, but I wouldn't pay much more unless I had more use.

to be honest, the best ones in my book are the blue point ones, but they're not much better than the gear wrench ones you can get at sears for less than half the price. i decided to go with gear wrench when i buy mine, ratcheting wrenches are sweet.

oh, and you should only buy these on top of your regular combo wrench set, you dont want to only have these, you cant really put too much force on them like you can on a regular wrench.

I love em! great for small spaces, and quicker to set up then a ratchet and socets. I got a set of 'Gear Wrenches' which is sears. Ive broken two, 10mm and 13mm, but aside from that they are nice. Only suggestion i would have would be to get a set that does not have a selector. In other words, you dont ahve to switch it from On or Off depending on where your using it, rather you flip the wrench and get the same feature. Less to break, is why i say that.

Load up on the craftsman stuff. Cheap, fairly reliable, and free to replace if you break it.

              I love the ratcheting stuff.

Swing wild, brake later, don't apologize.

I was acutally looking at SK ratching wrenches. European Car had them as Tool of the Month a while back and they have more sizes than Craftsman. They are more expensive, but seem a lot nicer. Anyone have any opion on SK or other companies? What do other companies cost and offer in sizes? I really like the combo ones.

I have a set of Husky's from HD. Believe it or not they have some damn good tool's. I bought a set of Std.'s for my work truck but plan to get a set of Metric for my Tool box @ home.
One thing I have noticed between cheap o's and Good Name brand like Snap-On,etc is how bulky the wrench is many times you can fit a Snap-On into an area where a craftsman, etc would never fit.
With Tools you get what you pay for.

ive got some with the pivot head, only thing is the head will sometimes move off the bolt or if you push to hard itll get off the correct angle and youll have to readjust the head, but the ratchety part is awesome

SK aka Facom they are in the same family. They are great not meant for high torque applications but great for tight confines.

When I worked at sears last year, we sold two types of the ratcheting wrenches. The set that was less expensive had a silver finishing and had higher ratcheting degree (meaning you had to turn the ratchet further to have it lock to turn back). The more expensive set had a polished silver/chrome finish and a lower ratcheting degree, it felt a bit smoother when I tried them out (site specs say they have a 5 degree arc).

I'm sure the smaller arc would be nice for tight areas, I don't think the prices are much different.

I love the flex-head gear-wrenches. I use them everyday at work. Out of the $17k worth of tools I own, I would say they are up there with my favorites. I paid $50 for a set of flexhead gear-wrenches at sears on sale, for 10mm-19mm. Also, I highly suggest the socket add-ons that craftsman sells to convert each wrench into a low profile ratchet, they are totally worth the $30 extra.
