What is my 1992 325I Vert worth?

I bought this car a month ago for my wife and she has since decided she wants a 4 door
I'm not sure what it's worth.
    It's a 1992 325 I Red/Tan with black top auto.
    65K original miles.
    Good shape with 0 rust.
I have spent 2K alone in the last 3 weeks doing the following.
    1. Steering rack – Upgraded to E36 M3 rack
    2. New tie rods
    3. Driver low beam headlight
    4. Wiper blades
    5. Water pump
    6. Timing belt
    7. All 3 drive belts
    8. Thermostat
    9. Transmission filter kit
    10. Transmission fluid Flush
    11. Transmission pan gasket
    12. Oxygen sensor
    13. Gas gauge
    14. Temperature gauge
    15. New tires
    16. 4 wheel alignment
    17. New Alpine Stereo
    18. Cruise control
    19. Engine underpanel shield
    20. Fuel Pump
    21. New Alpine stereo with Polk speakers
    - Doing a rear diff flush and oil change this weekend to full synthetic.
    - Getting a new windshield next week.
    What it needs.
    1. A/C system needs replaced. I'm working on sourcing parts now.
    2. In my opinion needs a new top. Canvas is in good shape but previous owner did a super ghetto install on the rear window. Doesn't leak but looks like poop.
    3. Typical cracks in the dash
    4. SRS fault, not sure what it is yet, taking it in next week to have it looked into.
    5. Salvage title. Reason it has such low miles is it was hit in the front, repaired and the guy never paid the bill so it sat for years, was auctioned, the girl who bought it at auction didn't have skills to work on it, another guy bought it and was starting to give it some TLC when he found a M3 he wanted so he dumped his other projects. I picked it up from him.
I can't post pics on here but will put some up soon.
I have no idea what values are on these right now.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks!
    Chris

Whatever someone will pay for it...

Seriously though I think the regional market where you sell your car has a HUGE influence so its hard to say

I'd take what you paid for it, ask for 2k more, and expect to get at least 1k less than your asking price.

I wouldn't touch a salvage without seeing pics of the damage, and most people wouldn't touch a salvage period, so that's also something to consider also.

Vivek is right. Start the asking price with what you had paid for the car originally and add $2K for the repairs. See how much interest you get with that as your asking price. If you're getting A LOT of interest, increase by another $1000.

It's pretty hard to increase the price of a car once it's up for sale. If I was the OP I'd be glad to get everything back that I put into the car. Unless he got it dirt cheap to begin with, it's most likely not happening.

But on an unrelated note, you should talk to your wife about why exactly you need a 4 door car. If she has a decently practical car it may not really be necessary, and you'll be losing a car that you obviously seem to like.

I meant, cancel the posting and re-post a week later. Doesn't sound like the situation is dire for him to sell the car now.

If you don't really want to sell it, price it high. Then maybe you get to keep it.

                    Thanks for the replies everyone.
I totally agree that the region has a huge influence on the price.
I don't agree with the salvage title issue. 75% of the cars out there that are 20+ years old have had accidents. If anyone tells you different slap their face for lying ;-)
I'm definitely not in a rush to sell it and might keep it at a friends place in MD for when I have assignments on the east coast. Rental cars get expensive and it's impossible to rent a classic bmw vert ;-)
I'm not that attached to it as I also have a 93 red/ten/blk vert that is mint, manual and tastefully modded. It's super rare as the last year of the E30 vert and has been very well taken care of by all the previous owners.
And I don't mind that the wife wants a 4 door, since I get to pick it, it's ZHP shopping time :-)
I know that with most cars you don't get back what you put into them.
But I'm sure you all realize that the E30 is rising in value as a collector's item and not losing value anymore. Particularly for the verts and one that has 65K is rare even if it's not a clean title. For a comparable one with clean title you'll pay up to 10K depending on the location, season, etc. I'll be putting this up for sale for exactly what I have in it. if someone wants it, great. If not I'll just keep it.
                    Have a great weekend gents.
