gotta say the 2002 with S14 is the best swap, just looks like it should have been that way from the factory, unlike most of the other forementioned swaps.

I am about to drop a Euro L-Block 3.5L in my E28... not an insane swap, but a great way to get 40hp for nearly free, just got to sell my M30 when I am done rebuilding the L-Block. 8)

Silvia's are rwd. Oh i dream of engine swaps all the time. Some of these ive participated in accomplishing...some are dreams. I like to keep my swaps to small engines, but there are exceptions. Going honda...the s2000 motor(F20c I believe) in an ITR, Honda had some pair of balls putting a warranty on the engine. Nissan-2r20det in an ol datsun 240. Merc-w202 2.3litre blown motor(out of c230) in a 190e. Ive actually helped work on putting this fucker in a 190e. Back to BM-3litre obdI s50 in an e12. Dont know why no one has put the S62 into an e24 shark, yet. Subaru-EJ20 out of wrx(or EJ33 from svx) into 2.5rs coupe. My buddy and I did the ej20 swap. The most interesting swap ive thought up of lately is the putting the EJ33, with its drivetrain, into an e28. Best of all worlds...Porshce engine, subaru drivetrain, with bm susp. and chassis...and 230whp.

                    1. E30 with 2.9 aluminum block
I hope to make this dream come true later this summer. 50/50 balance, 300 horses, and real wheel drive. Add a big brake kit and your in supercar status.

                    2. Z4 with e39 M5 engine
Insane! The Z4 is the most fun car I've ever driven. The 3.0 6 speed is fast. I'd love to see a hungry V8 in there to shut up Viper owners. Tires every 2 weeks. :)

                    3. E46 330i with 540i V8
I love new e46 330i auto as it is a great sports sedan. My only complaint is it could use more power. I also love the E39 540i as the V8 really pulls. However the 540i doesn't handle as well as I would like and is a little too big. The solution, drop the V8 into a 3 series sedan. The ultimate everyday car.

Those are my 3 favorite swaps. I hope to do all 3 one day.

                    Some other wild possibilities:

                    E46 M3 engine in E30
                    E39 M5 motor in X5
V12 motor in 5 series (There is one out there)

As for other cars...bah. BMW really has my heart. Every other car I drive just cannot measure up.

                    FWD sucks.

Agreed. There aren't many other combinations of chassis and motor that can give you such an agile, powerful car (and still a BMW). This is an excellent example of power-to-weight ratio. With minimal upgrades, a 2002 handles extremely well. Just add an S14 and you have one amazing car.

                      ...then again, maybe I'm biased.

because.....this is a BMW forum and RWD rules here. Pure logic is ludacris, and opinion is fact.

RWD is more fun, and more sporting. FWD will have no love here!
