    DC area mechanic recommendation

Can anyone recommend a decent independent mechanic in the DC area. My brother is in DC and he is having some really bad engine noise. We might have to take it some where.

    Thanks!

J&F Motors in Arlington is good, but expensive as hell. Might try Martin Motorsports, too.

Sarek Autowerke...Richmond VA...Grady Goodman is very experienced with E30s...rest of the shop is mainly BMW and BMW bikes...about $78/hr

Since its two hours...might use AAA towing.

Read the forum titled "service" in the local chapter of the BMWCCA website. You don't need to be a member to view, see here: http://forum.nccbmwcca.org/forumdisplay.php?18-Service

        Good luck.

Just saw this. I have been a patron at Stauffer's Auto in Millersville, Maryland for around 3 years. Great guys, fairly priced, a TON of Parts, and they know their bimmers inside and out.

Best by far is Bimmer Werks on Old Baltimore Pike. The shop is the nicest I've ever seen and the owner, Amr, is the best mechanic I've ever met and has great prices too.
