I thought about it as a plan B option if I had auto insurance issues but AAA picked it up without any issues and I think I got a really fair amount back from them.

yes he did! I knew the SN looked familiar. I'll be back in Almaden early next year... anyways sucks what happened. Have you tried to see if the Homeowners Insurance will cover it, since it was on the property?

Just in case anyone wanted to know I heard back from my insurance today and got all squared up. Looks like they valued the car at just over 6k. Bought the car back for $128 salvaged which was a no-brainer. Its sad, but I will be parting it out very soon here. Ill make a thread when that time comes this week. Thanks again for the help guys!

I see what youre saying. The car was up on stands for some basic reasons. I was replacing the CSB and changing the upper strut mounts after realizing I reinstalled the old ones. After reinstalling those parts, the car would have been back to road ready. Now I regret not taking the extra time to put those front wheels back on.

    Sorry to hear.

Honestly they might total it but if there isn't any further damage that looks very fixable.

It then becomes of question of what market value you can justify based on actual sold vehicles in your area. From whatever that figure is, take off your deductible then whatever they want for the salvage value and thats what you will get a check for.

FWIW my 84 318i was t-boned in January. Keep in mind Im the 2nd owner and was lucky enough to geet an adjuster who knew what BBS wheels were. I got $3k and the car and thought I made out rather well.

    GL. It sucks
I appreciate the insight. Im hoping for a similar situation when it comes to the adjuster. I agree with the totaled statement, looks like I will be making a part out ad in the near future...

I guess so? The cops said that seemed to be the case based on the damage and location of the vehicle. The only clue left behind was the perfect imprint of the DUKE logo on the bumper from the tire of the hit and run driver. Gonna look for some paint transfer an scan the neighborhood for a big truck/ SUV on offroad tires.

Thanks again guys for the assistance.

It did drive, but I got it to that point right before the holiday, had plans to smog it monday. It sounds like when the car came down it smashed the oil pan, I just received an update from my friend that there is oil around the front of the car. If I can get everything worked out again I will drive it over. I'm just worried about what was damaged when the front end smashed into the driveway.

Thanks for the advice. I do want the car back ultimately if its an option, mainly for the parts. I have another AWII 318is (salvaged) already thats destined to be a track car of some sort when I finish school and and get a job. Guess Ill look into towing it to a few places in the area to know what Id be looking at to get it fixed.
