DD: e34 vs. e36

Personally, if I had $6k to spend on a car, I like the E34 better.

Keep in mind I am: 1. Old. 2. Big

the daily driver thing points more toward a sedan and space, the e36 is definately going to be at least one up on the e34 as far as handling and performance, daily driver sounds more like utility and comfort, while still being sporty and having decent performance. Is it something along those lines or am I missing gas mileage and looks too?

only reason id want an e36 over an e34 would be if I wanted a smaller 2 door car. In 4 door form i much prefer a 5. Still handle nicely, and more comfy and smooth (well the 540 was smooth, the M5 is a bit different with the suspension, but its still pretty smooth..). My suggestion if you havent is go drive both. Youll love the torque of the 540. Get on the highway and it just flys!

^^and in my 540i 6, i never found a stock or mainly stock e36 M3 that could stay with me in a straight line..
