    My bands first gig

Well last night my band had our first gig sure it we only got to play one song be we rocked out. Only problem was that the idiots that sang b4 us turned the mic off and didnt tell us. We played at my school for a fundraiser for project graduation and we played "For Whom the Bell Toles" by Metallica. I also have a video of the whole performance if anyone interested in seeing it and can host it for me. By the way I'm the drummer.

the 2 bass player was an idea we had the one follows the rhythm guitar and th eother follows the lead.

were probably gonan ditch that idea it jsut seems to be to much bass.

Nothing toward your band, but Girls Against Boys is the only band I've ever heard who could pull off 2 bassists.

yeah hence the reason were getting rid of it. Plus its easier to make it fit when you write the song.

Is there going to be a bassist boxing match to decide which one goes?

ahhh... I remember the days of Metallica covers. I was in a band in high school too, I also played the drums. But that shit gets boring after a while. Especially if your lead guitarist is a tool who thinks he's much better than he really is. Anyways, good job. Double-bass kits always look bad-ass. Just remember this stuff is supposed to be fun - the second it isn't, then stop.

who hasn't played his drum kit since May because his shitty band discouraged him.

To many times do band members get caught up in themselves and there abilities and stuff. To me in the end its all about the music, I don't play metallica music to try to be better then them or anythign i play it in hommage to the great job they did writing it. Our band doesn't brag, nor do we think we are the best or near that tho we like to tell people to come watch us an determine that for themselves. And we play more then just covers to we actually write our own songs also.

Oh and the guy with the blue bass is gonna be the bass player more then likely the other guy will just sing.

What's the name of your band? What style of music are you? Or are you one of those bands that say "our sound doesn't really have a name..."

the name of our band was Dressed For Success we go by DFS for now til we think of a better name. We play a mix of stuff i mean for covers but we mostly play metal and write metal style of music. Well it ranges from metal to hard rock we want to be the kinda style of metallica, speed metal, but i dunno thats what we are for now. I didn't by a double bass set to play emo or crap rock ;)

I miss playing in my band a ton. It was so much fun. We played our first show in grade 10 at a cabin party and it was the time of my life. I played guitar and vocals, and let me tell you it was the best way to get action I've ever experienced 8)

I was in a punk band in high school called "Worst Case Scenario". We were really good, we played parties all the time.
