From what i've heard: Yes he did,

I'll quote a local e30 forum member on this one, he knows the guys

The guy who was in the back seat is out of the hospital.
The other two are in much worse shape, both broken necks and broken vertebrae, shattered legs etc.

you might need to get the "Coarse" compound

That's a little worse than my E36 325is donor car was. Still stole the drivetrain from it and parted it out to break even.
