My plans were to do a 4 door truck in the future. But with my 6'6'' stature I thought it best to do a 2 door to gain more room to move back my seat.

Currently I don't have the room or spare funds to undergo this yet.

You can do it to a 4 door, but it is a lot more work. You will need to seal the rear door seams. I think a combo of inner weld and filling the outer seam with epoxy would do the trick. Then fill the slight spots over the epoxy and repaint.

i was thinking of doing it to this ix sedan shell I have that's been sitting around for years. If i did chop right behind the B-piller, I would have to create a back panel that would allow for enough room for me to slide the seat back enough.

creating the fill for the back doors wouldn't be insane, but definitely some work there. I'm just trying to find something to do with this shell... Poor thing is just sitting there.

What about an E34 touring? I think it'd be cool to make a Subaru Baja Style E34. Also if you have the shell and want a cheaper project always could do a E30 trailer. Just sayin

No, the convertible has no roof or B-pillar to connect anything to.

i can't remember what those look like.

80's toyota 4-runner with the removable roof off = same idea?

e30 verts are so floppy as delivered, i shudder to think what one would be like if you cut more stuff out of it.

I'd do it to a vert if I did it.

I feel like using a vert would give about the same results as just bolting wheels and tires to a giant noodle.

shit, that's not far from what they are (sans hardtop) in the first place. :(

A strut brace helps quite a bit. Easy project.

yeah, i noticed a little sharper turn-in from the 2 front brace pieces, but the hardtop was night and day by comparison. i don't know how much more of a vert you could cut away safely...
