Like others have said go get your car back now! They obviously don't want to do the work, give a local r3v member a weekend with the car and it would be all fixed. Seriously if my car were to sit somewhere for a month without anything being done I would flip out and tell them if they cant handle a job be upfront about it because there are plenty of other places that can and will do the work, it doesn't take a race shop to do the simple little things you listed. Post the name of the shop so nobody else's gets the same treatment.Shawn @ Bimmerbuddies

Burn bridges? The SHOP is the one burning bridges. Thanks for the feedback guys. I was trying not to burn bridges since these guys seem to be pretty well respected by the local SCCA crew but at this point I have to agree that going and getting my car is probably the best option. For future reference, can anyone recommend a reputable shop in or around Pittsburgh?
You should do the right thing and post up here and locally to let others know how you were treated.Comment

This, really... Having worked in a shop, you have to be real direct about your expectations, though it seems wrong that they aren't very concerned about your satisfaction. Instead of badmouthing this shop to everyone, I would discuss setting a deadline with them, and if it isn't met, take the car and don't pay, simple as that. But seriously, 6 months, how do people let this happen to them? Live and learn I guess.Comment

I'm going to stop in Monday morning. I'll fill in the details after that.Comment

Compare mileage to when you dropped the car off. Maybe they destroyed the ______ on a "test drive" to lunch.Good luck!Comment

Alright, due to some unexpected high priority projects at work I wasn't able to make it over to the shop as soon as I would have liked but here's an update. I stopped in today to get the car and everything was done except for the brackets. From what I can tell they did a good job with it, the car tracks straight and the idle is nice and smooth. No excuse for the length they had my car but at least it seems that the job was done correctly in the end.
For all of the curious parties the shop is McB Autosport in Bridgeville, PA. I can't really say whether this is their normal mode of operation or not being that this is the first time I have dealt with them but if anyone else is considering using them I would be extremely clear about any deadlines you might have, no matter how trivial the amount of work seems to be.Comment
